Even When You Do Everything Right

I launched a new funnel today.

New offer.
New VSL.
Sexy-looking build.

I was genuinely pumped about how it turned out.

Before shipping it, I did what I always do.
Clicked through the whole thing.
Top to bottom.
Desktop and mobile.

Everything looked good.

So I sent traffic.

And while watching sessions come in, I noticed something… mildly embarrassing.

In the testimonial section, I had cloned column one twice.
And one of the elements never got changed.

Duplicate text.
Right there.
In public.

And here’s the part that matters.

I’m the guy who obsesses over checking things.
And I still missed it.

That’s just reality.

Funnels are complex.
Humans are fallible.
Attention doesn’t scale.

It wasn’t catastrophic.
But it was a reminder.

Even when you do everything right, stuff slips through.

So instead of beating myself up, I did what builders do.

I turned it into a feature.

I added duplicate text detection to Funnel Pulse so this doesn’t happen again — to me or anyone else using it.

Because being “the man in the arena” means you’re going to bleed a little.
You’re going to miss things.
You’re going to ship imperfect work sometimes.

That’s part of the deal.

What doesn’t have to be part of the deal is relying solely on your own eyes and memory to catch everything.

It’s a lot easier to stay confident when you’ve got systems watching your back.

Even when you’re doing your best.
